Regional Jets
Regional Jets are larger aircraft designed for short to medium haul missions powered by turbofan engines. They feature wider cabins that can accommodate between 50 to 112 passengers and can cruise over 763-850km/h and fly a range of 2000-3500km. Passengers can enjoy a full range of amenities from a full galley offering both hot and cold food, stand-up room, a private lavatory, and baggage compartments. Flight attendants are available to enhance the passenger experience and maintain safety.
There are many types of Regional Jets available including ERJ 145 manufactured by Embraer. The ERJ 145 features a 22.3° sweep angle wing, a T-tail and rear mounted Rolls-Royce AE 3007 turbofan engines producing 7426lb of thrust each. With a maximum altitude of 37,000ft, the ERJ 145 has a range of 2445km (1320nm) whilst carrying 50 passengers and can travel up to 833km/h.
Another Regional Jet is CRJ 100 manufactured Bombardier Aerospace that is powered by two General Electric CF34-3A1 turbofans producing 9,220lb of thrust each. CRJ100 featured a Collins ProLine 4 avionics suite, Collins weather radar, GE, new wings with extended span, more fuel capacity, and improved landing gear to handle the higher weights. Certified for a maximum altitude of 41,000ft, the CRJ100 can fly a range of 3000km at a speed of 810km/h with 50 passengers.

The BAe 146 is another regional airliner manufactured British Aerospace, powered by four Honeywell ALF 502R-5 turbofans each producing 6,970lb of thrust underneath the high mounted wing. Marketed as the “Whisperjet”, this aircraft has very quiet operation and whilst is primarily a regional jet, short-haul or regional airliner, the BAe 146 is widely used at small city-based airports. In a five abreast layout this aircraft can seat between 82 to 112 passengers, cruise at 801 km/h at 29,000 ft with a range of 2,909 km (1,570nm).
